It's a beach of open sea and with strong waves. Maracaípe holds one part of the Brazilian Circuit of Surf. At Pontal Maracaípe, when the tide gets low, the reefs make wonderful natural pools.
Maracaípe is 3.5 Km far from Porto de Galinhas and it's the surfers' beach. Because of the regular waves, not to high, it is where the board sportsmen and sportswomen get together. Every year, the beach holds the World Surf Championship.

At Maracaípe, the limit is Pontal... wonderful! But it's not only to stay looking at, you can take a bath in the water where the Maracaípe River approaches the sea, which relaxes and stimulates at the same time.
